Welcome to my website! The little niche I've carved out in the back alley of the internet.
Within these pages you'll find that I love to write and entertain. While I'm most recognized for my books on outdoor recreation in Alabama where I am home based now (yes, I'm a damn Yankee - one that didn't go home) my interests are far-flung. I'm equally comfortable with writing historical non-fiction, web content on MANY different subjects, and putting my old radio career to use doing podcasts as I am with writing about the outdoors.
Feel free to explore! I hope you'll enjoy the journey as much as I do. And please, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you and your thoughts.
Well, after a rather lengthy break to help my hiking companion Archer T. Dog recuperate from his second TPLO surgery on his knees, I was finally able to hit the trail again for research on the new book, "Best Dog Hikes Alabama". My plan was to head to the north region of the state but on the way up from my home on the Gulf, I decided to visit some of my old favorites like this hike along the trails of Chewacla State Park. Along the way I answer a few of your questions about the writing process I use for a guide book like this and update its progress.
